Ethan, Sophie, Emily, and Gavin all ready to start the egg hunt at my Mom and Dad's. We have a little egg hunt before the feast on Easter Sunday.

Emily caught on quickly!

Darren helping Sophie fill her basket.

Coleen, Ethan, and Seth. Coleen looks too cute to be 8 1/2 months pregnant!

Ethan looking so handsome- he really enjoyed opening the eggs more than anything!

My cute brother James.

Gavin thoroughly checking all around the trampoline.

She looks so sweet!

Me and Sophie

We have to check everywhere!

My sweet little guy.

Most people probably think I'm exaggerating about how sick Sophie has been with her ear infections the last few months because she is so happy most of the time! I have been getting very little sleep lately because she's so miserable at night, but she's content and easily entertained during the day and it's probably hard to believe how different she can be at nighttime!

Princess Sophie and Princess Emily

All the cute kiddies: Ethan, Sophie, Emily, and Gavin. Baby Myra was asleep.

Aunt Marie and Sophie

Love that face!

Candy, candy, candy!!! We didn't remind Gavin that the Easter Bunny had hidden baskets until after he had eaten a healthy breakfast, but I still cringe when I see him eating so much candy! He was so excited to find his basket. Seeing how happy and excited they both were really made my day, they make each holiday so much fun.

Sophie got a hold of one of Gavin's black jelly beans! I tried to take it away, but it was too cute to see how much she enjoyed it !

She loves to laugh at this Elmo she got in her basket ( it laughs too).

Gav really wanted this car when he saw it at the store and I kept telling him "maybe the Easter bunny will bring it for you". So all morning he kept saying " The Easter bunny at the mall was going to get this for me and HE DID!!!!" So cute!

Love those smiles!

The day before Easter was a hectic day for me, so I was glad we could fit in coloring eggs while Sophie took a nap. It only took a few minutes and Gavin loved it!

He's such a "hands on" boy.

Darren's parents have a hunt the day before Easter every year. Their tradition is to put little pieces of paper with a prize written on it into pieces of salt water taffy. This year they used some eggs too. After the hunt everyone sits down and opens everything and makes piles with their papers and then redeems them for their prizes. Gavin was busy eating the taffy as fast as he could while I sorted his prizes.

The girls after the hunt: Kaylee, Alison, Sophie, Eryn, and Staci (Mackenzie was sick).

Trevor, Staci, and Gavin

Sophie and her basket of taffy.

Grandma Schmidt and Sophie

The Schmidt cousins before the hunt: Jarrett, Keaton, Alison, Staci, Eryn, Brady, Trevor, Sophie, Kaylee, Spencer, and Gavin.

The Monday before Easter we took the kids to Thanksgiving Point for "Family Night on the Farm". It was nice to do something different and the kids had a lot of fun. They made these bunny ears, got their faces painted, and got to pet a tiny baby bunny as well as lots of other farm animals.

Gavin wouldn't look at me because he was kind of nervous to ride the pony, although he really wanted to do it.

Sophie, Darren, and Gavin on the wagon ride.

Darren and Sophie

This turkey was pretty entertaining- he kept puffing up his feathers, strutting, and gobbling!

Gavin LOVES peacocks! There are some near his Grandma Schmidt's that he loves to go see. We had never seen an all white peacock before, pretty cool.

Sophie and a friendly baby calf.

Gavin wasn't sure what to think about the calf, it ended up chewing on his shirt which made him laugh.

Sophie girl at my parent's house. She wants to walk! She's been trying for some time now and cruises around the furniture wherever she can. My baby is growing too fast!

Cute little munchkins at the neighborhood egg hunt the week before Easter. It snowed a lot the night before, so the neighbors just shoveled the snow off their lawn. It was cold but still fun. Gavin was so excited because he found a spiderman egg!

Camille,
Your kids are so stinkin cute. Gavin is going to have a lot of girlfriends, I am afraid :-)
What a fun Easter you guys had. You look great. I miss seeing you
love,
Darcie
You got such cute pictures! I stole some and added them to mine...hehe... You guys did a lot of fun stuff, you are a really fun mom. That farm looks like a great place for FHE.
It looks like the egg hunt was a big success! My kids usually miss out, we don't hire the Easter Bunny, because I can't make the logistics work with church, etc... and the Spring Chicken has better working terms, so we hire her. We usually get in a good spiritual lesson, but we end up forgetting to do an egg hunt! (The Spring Chicken works any day from Mar 20 to June 21, and she can shop the sales, she can come in the middle of the day, etc...) We didn't ask her to come yet this year, and not at all last year, because none of the kids had clean rooms, and nobody was getting along... mean Mommy!!
That looks so fun at the farm, I really want to do that, and Gavin and Sophie are such cute bunnies! I love your family!
